About Simon Bulteel
Helping you identify projects for Research and Development Tax Relief to generate tax refunds.

I am an ACCA qualified accountant, who was trained and worked in practice in the UK for 10 years before moving into industry, primarily Clinical Research and subsequently Motorsport engineering, through these roles in industry I have developed a significant amount of knowledge about Research and Development Tax Relief.
The tax relief is probably the most generous relief available to Small- and Medium-sized (SME) companies in the UK, but is probably also the least claimed.
In 2013, I set up Cooden Consulting to help SMEs identify projects that might be eligible and help them to calculate the value of their claims.
If you are involved in Designing Buildings that might be pushing the boundaries of design capability, incorporating new technology into a building for the first time, or are building in difficult or challenging environments then you might have an eligible project.
The project has to be an advance in overall Science or Technology, it cannot just be an advance in your own Scientific or Technological knowledge. However, if the advance has already been achieved but the knowledge of how it was achieved is not in the Public domain then you may still have an eligible project. The project must also have a significant element of Scientific or Technological uncertainty, that is to say a "competent professional" operating in the field cannot easily deduce a means of overcoming any problems/issues.
So if you are working as part of a team, or you are an individual who has spent a reasonable amount of time trying to overcome the problems/issues, then you will likely have an eligible project.
I work directly with companies operating in the UK, but I do have a direct relationship with a similar business in France who specialising in assisting French companies.
